This page is dedicated to all our beloved goldens who are sadly no longer with us.

They are always remembered and live forever in our hearts.

I'll lend to you for a while, a Golden pup, God said. For you to love her while she lives and mourn for her when she's dead. Maybe for twelve or fourteen years or only two or three, but will you till I call her back, take care of her for me? She'll bring her charm to gladden you, and should her stay be brief, you'll always have her memories as solace for your grief. Now will you give her all your love, nor think the labour vain, nor hate me when I come to take my Golden back again.

I fancied that I hear you say Dear Lord thy word be done, for all the joys this pup will bring, the risk of grief I'll run. I'll shelter her with tenderness and love her while I may, and for the happiness I've known forever grateful stay. But should you come to call her back, much sooner then I planned, I'll face the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.

If by my love I've managed your wishes to achieve, the memory of her I loved, will help me while I grieve.

When my faithful friend departs this great big world of strife, Ill have another Golden pup and love her all her life.

SAM

Samson Something Special

(Maxanda Here's Hoping ex Sophie of Sunset)

6th August 1985-12th August 1989

Sam was our first Golden Retriever and he was something special! Bought as a birthday present. A very handsome lad. He thoroughly enjoyed obedience training and agility, and we loved watching him through the kitchen window playing on the kid's slide, all by himself!

PENNY

Keneven Penny Lane

(Amberland Black Sabre ex Silky Diamond)

24th July 1987-9th December 2000

So Wise and Wonderful, Penny taught me a great deal. She enjoyed gundog work, obedience and agility. I still have clear memories of her standing on top of the 'A' frame enjoying the view. Penny was always at my side and my demonstration dog at obedience, doing all the disiplines in slow motion (obviously to show the younger dogs the finer points of the art!). She was a P.A.T dog with the sweetest of temperaments, a lovely girl.

MISTY

Misty Dawn Arrival at Sonodora

(Ch Sherida Sirdar ex Skylark of Beauchamp)

7th August 1988 - 10th February 2001

Sunshine on a cloudy day! The loss of a "Golden Oldie" is always sad, but more so when it is your foundation bitch. Misty possessed a wonderful temperament and character, which she passed on to her offsring. She introduced us to showing and breeding, she taught us so very much. She brightened a dull and foggy day when she arrived, and on a dark and cold winters evening, she left us!

Her legacy lives on!

BELLA

Sonodora Lady Be Good

(Tilita Benedick at Timarick ex Misty Dawn Arrival at Sonodora)

25th November 1991- 17th Jan 1998

Bella was "Big and Beautiful" a true cream coloured girl. She was a lovely showgirl and took her turn as a junior handlers dog for our daughters. She was full of fun and an excellent mum to all her puppies. Sadly taken far too soon.

TINA

Sonodora Lady Aravis

(Sh Ch Lorinford Lancelot ex Misty Dawn Arrival at Sonodora)

6th April 1990-21st February 1999

Our "Teeny Weeny" as she was known at home. Misty's daughter from our very first litter. Tina was such a gentle, sweet little girl. She had a very successful show career and was also a junior handling dog for our daughters. She could pull the most funny face making everyone laugh! She was an absolute joy to have in our lives.

SALLY

Sonodora Lady Savanna

(Sundar of Sherida ex Sonodora Lady Be Good)

27th February 1994-6th March 2009

Sally reached the grand old age of 15yrs and 1 week. She spent the afternoon of her birthday paddling in the stream, her favourite place. She was a fantastic mum to her three litters, and "Auntie Goose" to everyone else's puppies. She adored them, and they adored her, she was a super puppy sitter! We miss your help "Silly old Goose."

MEGAN

Sonodora Lady Shambrilla

(Sh Ch Tamarley Top Secret at Kinderbrook ex Sonodora Lady Aravis)

8th July 1995-21st July 2011

Meggie really was a grand old lady, reaching the age of 16yrs. Over those years she was a very successful showgirl, loved her gundog work, and was a great companion! She only had the one litter from which we kept Tipsy.

LOLA

Sonodora Lady La Vida Loca

(Pandreft Paddywack ex Sonodora Lady Pinacolada)

4th August 2002-17th January 2013

"Practically perfect in everyway". Known at home as Mary Poppins, Lolly would do anything asked of her. She was a beautiful girl, with a cracking temperament. She had a super sense of humour and really was my shadow! She had two litters and adored her babies, playing with them until the day they left. She overcame a neck injury in 2008 which rendered her paralysed. We thought that was her "bad luck" in life, and expected her to live on forever! Sadly she succumbed to cancer this year. She didn't deserve that. Such a brave little dog. We miss her so much!

TIPSY

Sonodora Lady Pinacolada

(Oystergold John Junior ex Sonodora Lady Shambrilla)

5th June 1997- 11th March 2013

Tipsy, what a name for a gundog! However if you had seen her staggering around as a two week old puppy you would have called her the same. She was our first show girl to qualify for Crufts. She had good working ability, and still wanted to retrieve, right up to the end. She had three litters and was an excellent mum. She was almost 16yrs when she died and was my first Golden Shadow!

TESS

Sonodora Lady Euphoria

( Pandreft Pure Frankincense ex Sonodora Lady Pinacolada)

20th January 2001 - 31st January 2015

Tess. A full sister to Rosie, but the one that came with the brains! She was Ray's working girl. Ray and Tess spent many a lovely day in the countryside at working tests. She held the Preliminary Stage Gundog Working Certificate.

Tess also had three litters. We kept Heather from her second litter and Carrie from her third. A super mum throughout.

ROSIE

Sonodora Lady Lar Dee Dar

(Pandreft Pure Frankincense ex Sonodora Lady Pinacolada)

27th July 1999 - 1st May 2015

Rosie, known at home as Dozy Rosie due to being very laid back without a care in the world. She was Tipsy's eldest daughter. A beautiful showgirl with a wonderful temperament. A joy to live with and a great walking companion. Rosie was a brilliant mother to her three litters .

BRIDIE

Sonodora Lady Blossomtime

(Sh Ch Amberland Ajax ex Sonodora Lady Lar Dee Dar)

18th March 2005 - 29th July 2019

Bridie was always the baby of the bunch! Up for anything and everything! A super working girl , totally devoted to us with a wonderful temperament. She won a lot of prizes as a younger girl at shows and enjoyed her gundog training, a real all rounder! We all miss her terribly. I have had lots of shadows, but she was My Shadow and My Best Friend.

Heather, Ray's "Little Beauty"  was very much a beautiful girl, however gained that acolade from her sucess at working tests. Loved her gundog work with her dad right up to the end. Mother to Willow and Grandma to Tilly

MADDIE

SONODORA LADY AUTUMNAL GOLD

(Rosinante Loverboy by Tannadice ex Sonodora Lady of Petalas)

24th September 2015 - 10th January 2023

MADDIE was taken so suddenly from us aged only 7rs. She was to become a mum again shortly afterwards. Her daughter Georgie, who was totally inseparable was unbelievably lost after her death, as we all were.

God bless you dear Maddie.
